- Recently, scientists at Pune based Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), have mapped two alternative dwarfing genes Rht14 and Rht18 in wheat.
- It can help in reducing rice crop residue burning i.e. stubble burning.
- The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the E-Conclave of Defence MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises).
- The Conclave will certainly help India achieve its target of 25 billion defence production by 2025.
- US President Donald Trump recently announced his plan to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty signed with Russia after around 18 years.
- The treaty was signed in 2002 to enhance military transparency.

- The reverse repo rate was also reduced to 3.35 percent.
