- The World Bank recently launched the Global Economic Prospects Report, 2020.
- The report says that the Emerging Market and the Developing Economies are highly vulnerable.
- The central government has initiated a consultation process for the formulation of new science, technology, and innovation policy (STIP 2020), a fifth policy in a row.
- This process has been jointly initiated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Office to the Principal Scientific Advisor to Government of India.
- To foster the inclusion of LGBTQAI+ employees, Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL) has unveiled a five-year plan.
- It aims at hiring queer people and extending benefits to same-sex partners.
- The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) predicts that there would be a 24% increase in the expansion of Ameri Ice Shelf (AIS) boundaries by 2021 and another 24% expansion by 2026 from its 2016 positions.
- The Amery Ice Shelf is one of the largest glacier drainage basins in the world, located on the east coast of Antarctica.
- The Long-distance runner Kiranjeet Kaur has been handed a four-year ban by World Athletics’ anti-doping body for testing positive for a banned substance (Enobosarm).
- The Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda inaugurated Khelo India e-Pathshala programme which aims to provide online coaching and education to athletes living in far-off areas.
- The progamme was launched by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), in association with National Sporting Federations (NSFs) recently.
