- The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the generic version of Tocilizumab for emergency use for the treatment of Covid-19 among adult patients.
- It is produced by the Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Hetero.
- The medicine would be available under the brand name of Tocira.
- Hetero's Tocilizumab is the bio-similar version of Roche's Actemra/RoActemra.
