- It is held from 24th August - 5th September, 2021.
- The official Mascot is ‘Someity’.
- For the 1st time, Badminton & Taekwondo will be introduced by replacing Sailing and 7-a-side football.
- India will field their largest contingent ever in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics
- A total of 54 Athletes will compete in 9 Sporting events.
- Only 19 Indian Athletes competed in the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
- Javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia (won Gold at Rio Paralympics) and high jump ace Mariyappan Thangavelu are the two Paralympic champions in the current Indian contingent.
- Prachi Yadav is set to become India’s 1st paracanoe at the Tokyo Para Games.
- Avani Lekhera will be the 1st Indian woman para shooter to compete at the Paralympics.
- Harvinder Singh and Vivek Chikara are the 1st Men Archers from the country to qualify for the Games.
- Anurag Thakur and Nisith Pramanik launched Theme Song ‘Kar De Kamaal Tu’ for Paralympics.
- The song is composed & sung by Sanjeev Singh, Divyang Cricket Player.
