Top 100 defense companies list

- Swedish think-tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) released a Top 100 defence companies list 2021.
- It has placed the HAL (42nd) and BEL (63rd) in the list of top 100 companies worldwide to supply arms, totalling to $5.1 billion in 2021.
- SIPRI included a Taiwanese firm for the first time in the top 100.
- China has a total of eight companies listed in the top 100, and among them four companies are ranked among the top 10.
- It found that arms sales from the eight Chinese companies reached $109 billion in 2021.
- The overall leader has been companies belonging to the US with a share of 51 per cent of the total arms sales.
- The US companies are followed by the Chinese companies.
