TR Zeliang sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Nagaland

• Naga People’s Front leader and ruling DAN chairman TR Zeliang was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Nagaland.
• Nagaland People's Frontis the ruling party in Nagaland. Last February, Zeliang had stepped down from Chief Minister post following large-scale violence after several groups opposed holding civic polls in the state with 33 per cent reservation for women.
• Following his resignation, Shurhozelie Liezietsu of Nagaland People's Front was selected as acting Chief Minister.
• Governer has directed Zeliang to prove his majority in the assembly. Other ministers will be sworn in after Zeilong proves the majority.
• Zeilong has become Chief Minister after 5 months since he stepped down from the office in February.
