- The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has released its annual Trade and Development Report.
- It expects the world economy to grow 2.6% in 2022.
- This is 0.9 percentage points below last year’s projected rate.
- The growth is expected to further decelerate in 2023 to 2.2%.
- The report expects the Indian economy, the largest in the region, to grow 5.7% in 2022 and 4.7% in 2023.
- In FY22, the country’s GDP grew 8.7%.
