- Minister for Consumer Affairs has decided to increase the import limit on Tur Dal from two metric tonnes to 4 lakh metric tonnes for the year 2019 - 20.
- It will release 2 lakh metric tonnes of Tur Dal buffer stock to States and Union Territories under the Price Stabilization Fund.
- This step is expected to compensate for the fall in tur dal production during 2018-19 crop year (232 lakh tonnes).
