- Two police stations in the state, have been rated among the best police stations in the country by the union ministry of home affairs.
- While the RS Puram police station (B-2) in Coimbatore bagged the number one place in the country, in the category of Smart police stations.
- K4 Anna Nagar Police Station in Chennai has been ranked the fifth-best in the whole of India.
- Tamil Nadu police officials, received the trophy from union home minister Rajnath Singh at the 'All India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals of Police -2017' held at Takenpur in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
