- Students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras were bagging the first and third positions in the UK India Social Innovation Challenge.
- Second place went to a team from Kongu Engineering College, Erode.
- The competition was launched by the UK India Social Entrepreneurship Education Network (UKISEEN) and this year saw its second edition.
- Top-ranked projects are:
- 1st Place: Recycling of demolished waste concrete using solar energy.
- 2nd Place: Eco-Friendly Construction blocks from Construction & Demolition Debris using the Innovative CO2 Sequestration Technique.
- 3rd Place: Catalytic Degradation of kraft lignin by Ultraviolet Light and Ultrasound.
