The United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity COP-15 commenced in Montreal, Canada.
This is the second part of the COP15.
The first part was hosted by China.
India has rejected the concept of area-based targets for biodiversity conservation and have stated that the one-size-fits-all approach is unacceptable.
India urged to create a new and dedicated fund to help developing countries successfully implement a post-2020 global framework to halt and reverse biodiversity loss.
