- UN French Language Day is observed annually on 20th March.
- This event was established by UNESCO in 2010.
- It aims to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization.
- French is an official language in 29 countries.
- It as well is an official language of all United Nations agencies and a large number of international organizations.
- March 20 is also recognized by the International Organization of La Francophonie as the International Day of La Francophonie.
