- India has once again abstained from voting in a UN General Assembly resolution that condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine on the eve of the first anniversary of Russia's invasion.
- During the vote in the 193-member UNGA, 141 member nations voted in favour of the resolution.
- While 7 opposed the resolution, India, China, Iran and South Africa were among the 32 countries to abstain in the vote.
- The seven countries who voted against it were Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea, Mali, Nicaragua and Syria.
- India’s defence trade with the US is around 21 billion USD.
- But Russia is still the largest exporter of defence goods for India.
