- Arignar Anna Zoological Park introduces a new initiative on World Environment Day.
- It introduced a new method to keep a check on the littering of plastic bottles and pollution inside the park.
- On the occasion of World Environment Day, the traditional cloth bags called “Manchappai,” which means ‘yellow bags,’ were distributed.
- The zoo has started charging ₹10 for each plastic water bottle from the visitors.
- The visitors have to return the emptied bottle to the seller in the zoo and they’ll get refunds.
- Arignar Anna Zoological Park is also known as Vandalur Zoo.
- It is the first public zoo in India which was established in the year 1855.
