- On 16th July, exactly 75 years ago, the USA scientists tested Gadget.
- It was the world’s first atomic bomb.
- Trinity was the code name of this first detonation of a nuclear device.
- The test was conducted in the Jornada del Muerto desert near the New Mexico.
- The super bomb, nicknamed ‘Gadget’, was developed as part of the US-led Manhattan Project.
- The Manhattan Project was a research and development undertaking during World War II that produced the first nuclear weapons.
- It was led by the United States with the support of the United Kingdom and Canada.
