The United States of America (USA) has joined the International Solar Alliance (ISA) as a member country.
U.S is now the 101st country to sign the framework agreement of the ISA.
The framework agreement was formally signed by John Kerry, the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland.
The US also joined the steering committee of the “One Sun One World One Grid” initiative that includes Australia, France, the UK and India.
The International Solar Alliance was launched in 2015 by PM Modi and the former President of France Francois Hollande.
It was during the 21st session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP-21) in Paris, France.
