- Gujarat had the highest utilization to released fund ratio of Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds in the fiscal year 202223.
- Rs. 66 crores were allocated to the Gujarat, but it utilized Rs. 95.77 crore, or 145.11%.
- Other major states with the greatest utilisation to released fund ratios are Jharkhand (128.45%), Karnataka (127.76%), Kerala (122.33%), West Bengal (113.54%), and Tamil Nadu (112.86%).
- The MPLAD Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme and it is fully funded by the Government of India.
- This Scheme was announced on December 23, 1993.
