- This day is celebrated as the state foundation day of state Uttarakhand.
- In 1994, the demand for a separate state took full form.
- It was resulted in the formation of the state of Uttarakhand in 9 November 2000.
- It was done by the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act-2000,
- It is known as the "Land of gods" or "Dev Bhoomi".
- At the time of its establishment, it was named 'Uttaranchal'.
- It was later renamed Uttarakhand in 2007.
