- VOC Port Trust in Thuthukudi and Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) have signed a MoU for facilitating Direct Port Entry (DPE).
- DPE would enable direct movement of containers from factories to Container Terminal on a 24 * 7 basis without any intermediate handling at Container freight station.
- VOC Port Trust is the second largest port in Tamilnadu and is located in Gulf of Mannar.
