- Kenyan distance runner Abraham Kiptum won the men’s race at the Valencia Half Marathon in Spain with a new world best time of 58 mins 18 sec for the half-marathon.
- The previous record was by Ethiopia’s Zersenay Tadesse who finished the Lisbon half-marathon in 58 minutes and 23 seconds in March 2010.
