- World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) executive committee has banned Russia from Olympics (2020 - Tokyo & 2022 - Beijing), world championships events for 4 years.
- WADA had first found evidence of mass doping in Russian athletics in 2015.
- Russian athletes can still compete at major international sporting events without their flag or anthem.
