- Principal Scientific adviser Pravinder Maini has launched the Women in Engineering, Science and Technology Initiative (WEST) to enable women’s contribution to science.
- WEST is a new I-STEM (mapping of Indian Science Technology and Engineering) using a web portal for research sharing and promoting collaborations in R&D.
- I-STEM comes to under PM-STIAC Mission (allows scientific cross-sectoral collaboration and development).
- Other schemes: KIRAN (to encourage women scientists); CURIE (to develop infrastructure in women universities); Vigyan Jyoti (for girls in high school to pursue STEM).
