- A Government Order (GO) allotting 25 percent of jobs in Anganwadis for widows and women deserted by their husbands was passed.
- The rules for appointing workers for Anganwadis were framed in 2012.
- Those widows and deserted women who fulfill the criteria will be given priority.
- Already the practice of giving priority for widows and deserted women is in place for workers of the noon-meals scheme.
