- The World Health Organization (WHO) endorsed the Malaria Vaccine called “RTS, S/AS01” or mosquirix to use in Africa.
- RTS, S/AS01 is the world’s first vaccine against Malaria.
- This vaccine was first made in 1987 by the pharmaceutical company GSK.
- It was tested in a pilot programme in the three African countries - Ghana, Kenya and Malawi.
