- It has been established by the joint efforts of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
- The first celebration of World Accreditation Day took place on 9th June 2008.
- Accreditation plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- This year the theme is “Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment.”
