- The World Anti-Doping Agency has suspended Romania's drug-testing laboratory for six months, as it didn't meet the required standard.
- A sanction is imposed on the lab in Bucharest,capital of Romania due to non-conformities of the lab with the regulations of WADA .

- The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 in Lausanne as an international independent agency composed and funded equally by the sport movement and governments of the world.
- The First World Conference on Doping in Sport held, in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1999 where it adopted the Lausanne Declaration on Doping in Sport.
- Its key activities of WADA is to carrying scientific research in anti doping measures, development of anti-doping capacities, and monitoring of the World Anti-Doping Code (Code) – the document harmonizing anti-doping policies in all sports and all countries.
