- The theme of this year is “Arabic Language Academics: Necessity or Luxury”.
- It was established by the UNESCO in 2010.
- In 1973 the United Nations General Assembly approved Arabic as an official UN language.
- There are six official languages of the UN.
- These are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
