- This day marks the birthday of the greatest artist, Leonardo da Vinci.
- This day was proposed by the International Association of Art (IAA) in 2011 at the 17th General Assembly, Mexico.
- The first World Art Day was celebrated on April 15, 2012.
- The IAA was founded in 1954 in UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, to promote art and artists worldwide.
