- It aims to raise awareness about brain tumour and the importance of early detection and timely treatment.
- Brain tumours are abnormal growths of cells within the brain.
- These growths can be cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign).
- As per WHO, brain tumors account for around 2% of all adult cancers and 1.9% of all childhood cancers.
- The theme for 2024 is “Brain Health and Prevention”.
