- The World Development Information Day (WDID) is observed every year on October 24 to draw attention of world to development problems and necessity of strengthening international cooperation to solve them.
- The day was further recognized as the date on which the International Development Strategy for the Second Nations Development Decade was adopted in 1970.
- Many of these are aimed at journalists working for a range of media, including television, radio, newspapers, magazines and Internet sites.
