- This day aims to mark the celebration of e-mobility.
- The first World EV day was observed in 2020.
- This day celebrates electric vehicles of all shapes and sizes, as well as raising awareness of just how rewarding and easy making the switch really is.
- Presently, India has around 2.9 million electric vehicles and this number is increasing day-by-day.
- In year 2022-23, EV penetration rate touched around 5.3 per cent of the total.
- It is a jump of almost 6 times from 2020-21 level.
