- The Prime Minister inaugurated the three-day World Food India 2017, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
- The mega event was organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
- To mark the historic World Food Convention hosted for the first time by India, PM launched - Nivesh Bandhu the unique portal or "investor's friend".
- The theme of WFI 2017 is ‘Transforming the Food Economy’.
- Germany, Japan and Denmark are Partner Countries to World Food India.
- The portal will help bring together information on central and state government policies, and incentives provided for the food-processing sector.
- The purpose of WFI 2017 is to transform food economy and realize vision of doubling of farmers’ income by establishing India as a preferred investment destination and sourcing hub for the global food processing industry.
