According to this, the richest 1 percent have since the mid-nineties captured 38 percent of wealth growth globally.
As per the report, the richest 10 percent own around 60-80 percent of the wealth and the poorest half systematically own less than 5 percent of the wealth.
The report suggested developing new forms of wealth taxation on multimillionaires, including a progressive rate of wealth tax with tax rates according to the value of the total amount of wealth owned.
Tax ranging from 1 percent of wealth owned over $1 million to 3 percent for global billionaires can generate 1.6 percent of global income.
