- World Intellectual Property Day is observed annually on 26 April.
- The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000.
- The Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in April 26, 1970.
- This day aims to spread awareness about the role that IP rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs and copyright) play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
- The theme of this year is “Reach for Gold”.
