Every year Mother's Day is celebrated across the world on second Sunday of May month.
This year it was celebrated on May 12.
It is celebrated in honour of motherhood and to pay tribute to mothers all around the world.
Writer Julia Ward Howe is credited with first thinking of the idea of Mother's Day in 1872.
In 1908 Anna Jarvis campaigned for a national holiday in US in honour of her mother who was a community health advocate.
Then in 1914 Former US President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation and designated Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honour mothers.
Later Mother’s Day came to be celebrated worldwide.
