- It was inspired by the ‘The Day of Five Billion'.
- It was observed on 11th July 1987 as an approximate day when the world population crossed 5 billion.
- The 2020 Focus will be on ‘Peace in the Home: Safeguarding the Health and Rights of Women and Girls - Even During COVID-19’.
- As estimated in March 2020, the global population is estimated to have crossed 7.8 billion.
- As per projects, the human population in the world will reach about 10 billion in the next 3 decades.
