- The World Science Day for Peace and Development (WSDPD) is annually celebrated on November 10 to raise the awareness of the benefits of science Worldwide.
- The day highlights the important role that science plays in our society.
- The Theme of the day for the year 2018 is "Science, a Human Right".
- It was proclaimed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2001 and celebrated for the first time in 2002.
