- World Wetlands Day (WWD) is celebrated every year on 2nd February.
- This day marks the date of the adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar.
- WWD 2019 was celebrated with the Theme of “Wetlands and climate change”.
- This theme aims to highlight the important role played by wetlands, as natural solutions, in adapting and mitigating the impact of climate change.
