Drones have been used by Australian lifeguard services to save A couple of swimmers from the raging waves in New South Wales.
The drone used for the rescue, known as a Little Ripper unmanned aerial vehicle, is also part of a shark-spotting program being rolled out across Australian beaches for the upcoming summer. It uses an algorithm to automatically recognize sharks.
This incident is the first-ever life-saving operation on water using drones (unmanned aircraft) in the world.
