World’s first fully-private satellite launch
- Rocker Lab, a U.S. space startup, successfully launched three small satellites into orbit from its own private launch pad in New Zealand.
- Rocker Lab has become the first ever private company to successfully send satellites into orbit without the help of a government agency.
- Electron rocket, which carries only a small payload of about 150 kilograms, successfully deployed an earth imaging and two other satellites for weather and ship tracking.
