The World’s largest Single-location Solar Photo-voltaic (PV) Plant will be set up in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir.
The 5000 MW Ladakh project will be located at Hanle-Khaldo in Nyoma block, about 250 km from Leh and 200 km from Kargil.
It will be supplemented by another 2.5GW solar project in the Kargil district.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) expects the 5 GW Ladakh solar farm to be the world’s largest, surpassing China’s 3 GW Datong Solar Power Project.
This project will be completed in 2023 and is expected to save around 12,750 tonnes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions annually.
