- Union Home Minister, Amit Shah chaired the 24th meeting of the Western Zonal Council at Panaji (Goa).
- The meeting was also attended by Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Administrator of the UTs of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
- The Six Zonal Councils are - Western, Eastern, Northern, Southern, North Eastern and Central.
- They were set up under the State’s Reorganization Act, 1956 to foster Inter-State co-operation and co-ordination among the States.
